A New Kind of
Community Space.

Improv is the PRACTICE
CONNECTION is the PURPOSE

Not a theater. Not a stage. Just a radically welcoming space to play, connect, and grow through improv.

COMING SEPT 2025 TO ALAMEDA

Improv Central is a place for bold play, real connection, and transformative growth.

No stage. No levels. Just classes, workshops & events where you can show up, try things, laugh, and get stronger at the stuff that matters: listening, leading, connecting, being seen, letting go.

This isn't about becoming a performer. It's about becoming more you.

Whether you're looking for community, confidence, creativity—or just some good old-fashioned joy—we’re here for it. And you just might leave a little more open, more grounded, and more alive.

What’s Coming

At Improv Central, all of our classes, workshops & events fall into three playful paths

Connection

For people who want more ease, play, and community in their everyday lives.

career

For folks who want to lead, speak, or collaborate more confidently at work—without the corporate cringe.

craft

For creatives who want to deepen their skills in an ego-free, ensemble-focused space.

We’re getting ready to open doors—and we want you with us from day one!

This doesn’t work without you.

Improv Central is made for community. Help us launch like we mean it: full hearts, big crowds, loud laughter spilling out the doors.

Take one of the actions below to help make it happen!

MEET THE FOUNDER

© FotosbyFlee

Claire Slattery is an improviser, facilitator, and community cultivator who believes life’s better when we stop trying to script it. After years of performing, teaching, and leading in both creative and corporate spaces, she founded Improv Central to create a home for everyday people to practice presence, play, and bold connection.

Claire brings big-hearted energy, a love of weird joy, and a deep belief that everyone is an improviser—whether you're parenting, presenting, or just trying to feel more like yourself. She created this space because she needed it, too. And she’s right there in it with you.

Curious? CAN'T WAIT? Say Hi!

PS - This isn’t a robot form. Claire (a real human!) reads every single message.
